Over it...

I am so over not doing well in on my exams. I don't understand the lack of connection between our exams and the material taught it class. If you speak about the importance or the influence of something why can't you ask a question about that instead of a random question that may have been touched on in one slide on a powerpoint...in a list! I don't understand. The importance of what we are being taught is not what we are being tested on. We are not focusing on the important stuff, but the things that could possibly be tricky or rare. I just cannot get it. I can't figure out what to study, what is important to know. I can't wrap my mind around the material and I guess its always gonna be hard for me...

ANYWAYS!!!!!...What is with this weather? I love the warmth. It makes the hard parts of the day feel a little less awful. It worries me though. Not sure what the summer will bring, or what the planet is doing that its so warm so early. I do like the snow. Its calming and beautiful...in a terrible, power outage, freezing cold kind of way. I wouldn't want to live anywhere that didn't have the possibility of snow on Christmas.

I am a catholic, but not a very good one. I try to acknowledge it as much as I can, but when I can participate I do. So for lent I decided to give up using my credit card. I could have done chocolate or dessert or something typical, but I want to try and budget myself better and not spend money on stuff I don't need.

I have a lot of work and studying to do but don't think I won't be watching the red carpet and the Academy Awards on Sunday night. I am all about the glitz and glam of the red carpet, as well as all the awards for some of the best movies I have seen in a while. I hope to see some awesome fashion, hair and makeup.

Being in the well-baby nursery was so fun today. I changed a really yucky diaper and hugged a few babies with quivering lips. Love them.

Ok Jeopardy time...maybe I will learn something.

Presidents Day

HEYYYOOOOOO!!!!

Its a Monday night. President's day to be exact. I am watching Jeopardy with my momma and 3 dogs and I am not doing well. Usually I can get a few questions but not so much tonight. It was a day of studying. Thanks to my two friends from school we had a successful study session. Its amazing how having someone explain things in their own words makes things makes more sense. I studied all week and week end. I read the book, went over outlines, reviewed the power points and I still don't feel confidant. Oh well. Thats just me. After tomorrow, its time to study for another test next week...it never ends.

Anyways...I am soooo ready for a vacation. I really want to take a long weekend and sit on the beach with my boyfriend. I have never been to Miami but neither of us has the money to do that so we will just have to spray tan and drink a margarita in a thermos.

I have been trying to be good and study non-stop but I get side tracked with a few youtube videos every now and then. If any one needs a good laugh you should watch Jenna Marbles new video about land sharks. Hilarious! hahaha, totally my kind of humor.

Ugh I am so exhausted. Time for a bowl of cereal.

Later y'all.

Day 4...V-day and the Lorax

Ciao,

So it has been a few days since I last blogged. Tried to let things accumulate so I would have more things to talk about, but nothing earth shattering has happened so I will just chat as usual.

Happy belated Valentines day to all. Yesterday was the Hallmark equivalent of world peace and it was again a lovely one for me. I received a lovely display of flowers (multi colored roses), chocolates, a teddy bear, and a cool necklace from my mom. I really don't understand the hatred people have toward this pink and red filled holiday. I mean, I can understand when your single and everyone around you is making a big stink about dinner plans with their husband/wife/GF/BF and they make it more annoying then people who don't say thank you when you hold the door for them, but Valentine's day is about Love.

Love comes in all shapes and sizes and does not have to be the love between lovers. For me it has always been a fun day to wear either as much pink or red as possible (not so much now since most of my wardrobe is black) and for my mom to give my sister and I silly little gifts when we wake up, like cupid came and left us little treats. Either its candy and a fuzzy pair of valentines socks, or a DVD or music or something, but its just a fun way to show she loves us. That is what it should be. If you don't have someone to love (a GF/BF/Wife/Husband) you should be going out and showing love any way you can. Share the love damn it!

Anyways...I enjoyed the day, and the vanilla pink cake I made.

I would just like to say that I really can't wait for my next vacation. Not sure when that is going to be, but when it comes it will be well deserved. I can't wait to get first day sunburn, 5th day stomach cramps and be broke from all the crap I bought before and after going. I just want some warm sun on my face and a drink in my hand. Vegas may be this summer, but I really want a tropical beach getaway. Hmmm...

I am looking forward to the new Kardashian Kollection Nail polishes and the movie the Lorax. Random but oh so fun.

Alright. Early day tomorrow. Night y'all.

Day 3

Another somber day.

I mostly played with infants, took a few vital signs for a woman fresh out of a c-section and gave an injection of Rhogam. Nothing crazy.

Then I took a nap...which was like 10 min, since the dogs decided to bark every few minutes and it was so bright in my house.

I organized all my papers for upcoming projects, papers, exams and put clothes away. I picked up a dead stink bug off my rug along with a few massive hair clumps. That was fun. Thought about cleaning up the stink bug graveyard in our living room under a lamp table thats hard to get to...but I didn't. They are still there. My bad.

My dog charlie has some sort of eye infection, so I cleaned up green eye goo about 10 times. He loves rubbing his face on my lap. Not so cute when there is green pus coming out.

I watched jeopardy with my momma and then did a little work. I really need to get my shit together for these next exams. I suck at taking tests. I hate them and they hate me!

I am now getting ready to go to bed and I realized that this entry was a BORING PIECE OF CRAP! hahaha maybe I should only write when I have something interesting to say or bitch about.

Sorry for the randomness and boring banter.

Day 2

Hey there.

So I learned about a pretty rare disease today. Its a rare bowel disease called Hirschsprung's Disease. Its when the nerves in parts of your bowel don't work causing the motility that your intestines usually have to not move, causing the contents inside to back up and cause an obstruction. Maybe not cool to you, but its cool to me!

Anyways...on to more important and way cooler stuff, like hair and makeup (jk). I am so into the hair style called ombre. Its when the top half of your hair is dark and the bottom half is lighter. See photo below.

ombre-hair-profile.jpg

My hair is not long enough to do it but its super trendy and I really love it. (Hey why did my font change? oh well too lazy to fix it)

I am also really into blush lately too. I have been using two...on top of bronzer...(and to all my fellow UMDNJ friends you may never see me with this since I where minimal to school) I know that seems silly but I love contouring and then a brownish blush and then a pink or peach blush just on the apples of my cheeks. Its fun for me ok!!!!!

On a sad note. Not sure who knows about that disaster of a human who killed his two sons, took his own life and probably killed his wife a few years earlier, but people like this make me ashamed to be in the human genus. This man not only set the house on fire with these two little boys inside, he chopped them in the back of the neck and head with an axe. That horrific act did not kill them though. They died from the smoke inhalation.......I do not understand what brings someone to this. The human brain is an amazing thing, but for this type of action to ever register as being acceptable or ok in there is the most awful thing imaginable. I am going to pray for these boys tonight. I hope they are safe with their mother in heaven.

On a way different note, I find that I am just eating food to eat it. I am bored. I find myself eating the same things, but I am not thrilled at all and find myself feeling blah after. Maybe because I occasionally watch Top Chef on TV and the things they make look so fantastic that it makes everything in my pantry seem like licking dirt or smelling water. I am in need of a dining extravaganza, where I can get my taste buds thrown for a loop. Maybe something with a rare item or something I haven't had. Like some crazy mushrooms or sauces or something. Ahhh I miss Manhattan cuisine the most!

Alright. Time for bed, and yes its only 9pm. Labor and Delivery bright and early.

Day 1...part 2

Let the venting begin...

So I am in Nursing school, and no I didn't think it would be easy, but I definitely didn't think I was going to be pooping my pants every time a grade is posted for a test. Not sure why the teachers aren't doing their best to make great tests and to relate to what they teach (or don't teach) in class but I guess everyone else gets it since there are those who get all A's. Blah.

My mom is sick. For all my fellow nursing students, my mom has a re-occurance of her colorectal cancer from last year. It is due to scar tissue surrounded with left over cancer cells around her ureter (which was accidentally snipped during surgery to remove unnecessary involved cancerous "parts"). She became aware of the re-occurance due to pressure and pain in her stomach kidney area that turned out to be hydro-nephrosis of the kidney, which was caused by the scar tissue clamping down on the fixed ureter causing fluid back up in the kidney. (Thats a lot I know...sorry)
Anyways...chemo is underway. WE ARE GONNA KICK ITS DUMB CANCER ASS!!!!

As for my slight makeup obsession. I work at Sephora, but by work I mean I pretty much hang around and put makeup on people and just bring home stuff. I usually spend my paycheck there so its like I am not working just hanging out and being asked for a look that will "bring out my eyes and make them pop". Ugh.

I watch lots of makeup tutorials on line (probably why I can't pass my tests in school) and a lot of professionals do them so they are legit. Try Goss makeup artist, or pixiwoo or kandee johnson. All really great. It gets my mind off hydro-nephrosis and dumb tests and whatever else is bothering me.

The one thing I won't be talking about is my relationship. I am in a relationship with a great guy, but I am sure he wants to keep it private...plus EVERYONE talks about relationship drama so I am going to avoid it. XOX ML

Ok. Thats enough for one day. I have a lot to say but I will keep you on your toes. Hahah.

WAIT! oh my gosh, I just saw a commercial for multigrain cheerios PEANUT BUTTER! Holy moly there is nothing wrong about that statement. So excited!

Ok Bye.

Day 1

Hello world!

So I have decided to start a blog. Ground breaking I know.

Why the name of my blog? Well my name is unique to most. For me its simply Bonnie without the B. Most people see it and pronounce it as OH-KNEE and it irks me every time. Its not a big deal but I find it funny, especially when I tell them how its really said and that its like Bonnie just with out that bombarding B at the front.

I am going through a strange period in my life and maybe its relatable to some, but I figure it is somewhat worth reading about. Maybe someone will find comfort in the fact that I still live at home, or that I am finding it EXTREMELY hard to pass nursing school, or that I love doing makeup as my job and get complimented often but have NO confidence in it whatsoever!

I don't know but maybe I will be able to solve my own problems by writing them down, or soothe my pain by sending it out into cyber world, or may just make someone else laugh which is one of my most favorite things.

I hope this helps. Yay me. Here we go.
